On the 24th of April a number of club members attended the NARSA Rally at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool, it was a great opportunity to get out after the lockdowns and restrictions of the last couple of years and for new members (of which we have several) to experience a radio rally first hand.
We put some significant effort into our stand, with a functioning satellite ATV station showcasing a number of different satellite TRX setups. Alongside the satellite station we exhibited a variety of club projects from the last couple of years.
We had a successful day when it came to awards, winning 3 of the 4 available awards, the club website award and both of the construction competition prizes. Congratulations to Dave G8KBB who won the Bill Sparks trophy for his homebrew SDR and P25 transceiver and congratulations to James G5JIM who won the Colin Fox trophy for his first project, a Datong D70 style Morse tutor club project.
