On Tuesday the 24th of June 2014 the club was visited by Sipho Mzangwe ZS6NEO.
Sipho is Deputy Principal at Turffontein Primary School.
He is a keen radio amateur and is on a teacher exchange programme visiting schools in the UK.
He took the oppourtunity to visit our club and talk about his amateur radio experiences in South Africa and to explain about the was radio is used in schools and how it is aiding in the teaching of science and technology.
He talked about Hamnet which is South Africa’s version of the UK’s Raynet emergency aid service and what activities his club participates in.
We hope to organise a sked with Sipho’s radio club in the near future and would like to form links with his club – East Rand Radio Club. www.zs6erb.co.za
